Edwards Construction Group is proud to announce the completion of the state-of-the-art administration building at Santa Maria High School. As the general contractor for this ambitious project, we have been instrumental in bringing to life a modern educational facility that spans nearly 89,000 square feet. This three-story structure, featuring 50 classrooms, serves as the new hub for the school’s administrative services and can accommodate up to 1,800 students.

The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Monday marked a significant milestone for the school and the community. Jeannie Miranda, an alumna from the class of 1966, expressed her admiration: “This is just awesome. It’s an inspiration, not just for we who graduated from Santa Maria High School, but for the students going there now.” Her words capture the essence of this project’s impact on past, present, and future generations.

The building, which has been operational since the beginning of the school year, boasts advanced teaching and learning technologies. These include mounted big-screen monitors and modern, adaptable furniture designed to facilitate group-oriented learning environments. English teacher Julieta Delgadillo described the first day of class as “absolutely amazing,” highlighting the “state-of-the-art equipment, new desks, and spacious rooms with air conditioning and heating.”

This $64 million project, funded by Measure H passed by voters in 2016, began construction in January 2021.
